John Mott Obituary
John Grenville Mott, 86, who for 26 years was a member of the Legal Staff of the Inter-American Development Bank, died at his home in northwest Washington on April 4, 2016. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia.
John was born in Boston and grew up in NYC. He attended Fieldston School and Deerfield Academy, graduated from Princeton University in 1951, and earned his J.D. degree in 1957 from Harvard Law School. He was a man of exceptional integrity and generosity of spirit, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Leslie A. Mott for 56 years, John is survived also by his children -- John W. Mott of Brooklyn, NY, Charles H. Mott (Elizabeth), of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and Julie Mott Munger (Ronald) of Santa Cruz, CA. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Patrick (Meredith), Thomas, Samuel, Colin, and Eliza Mott, as well as Katharine and Caroline Mott Munger -- also many devoted cousins and friends.
A service will be held on April 23rd at 11:00 AM in the Little Sanctuary, St. Albans School for Boys, Massachusetts and Wisconsin Aves., NW., in Washington, DC.
