Such an honor to have known and met such a great and wise man. I am sure he impacted so many lives and passed on so much wisdom. I am only sadden that I was not able to absorb more from his experiences. We have lost a true human who has shared so much with the world and he shall live beyond in those whom he has touched, but God has gained a sole whom he can be proud to have shared. I will miss you and think of all you have taught me and all the new worlds you opened up for me. Thank you for being part of my memories.

I knew Judge Stackhouse when I was an intern in 2000. He was a good man and a great Judge. he helped me become the lawyer I am today. It was a pleasure and an honor to know him. My prayers go out to his family.

To Judge Stackhouse's Family,

I was a NYC Probation Officer and Judge Stackhouse called me and complemented me for the Sentencing reports I wrote that ended up in his Court part. I felt very honored by his outreach to me, which was very thoughtful of him.

Joan, Daniel, Laura, and Ross,

To say that this has been a hard year since John’s passing would be an understatement-in too many different ways. We still miss him. We still hold you in our hearts.

Love,

Bennett & Mary Stackhouse

John, you may no longer be with us, but I will always remember the great sidewalk chats we had on 15th street. Your wit, sense of humor, and lively attitude. That white jacket, and your slightly bowlegged walk, as you strode down the street. Never was a time I didn't smile to greet you, nor you to greet me. The day you walked past, with a grandchild strolling ahead of you, your nurse coming along to make sure you stood steady and strong. Such memories! I remember your honest and graciousness. And Joan's kindness when we'd speak about you, as time went on. Cheers from New Orleans to all. Be blest and thank you from my heart for your years of friendship...

My dad, John, had a long and terrific life, up until the dementia got serious. Great career, two terrific wives (not at the same time), three wonderful kids, helped a ton of people. He was comfortably at home right up to the end. He'll be missed, but there are no regrets for the family, I believe.

Linda and John Stackhouse were good people and cherished friends, to me and to many others around the globe. This picture of them was taken in Malaysia in 1968, when they served in the Peace Corps.
