JON MASON

MASON--Jon J. November 3, 1941 - May 10, 2021. Jon J. Mason has left us. He died peacefully at home with his bride Lurdes beside him. He was born at home in Jamaica, Queens. Met his first wife Virginia in OysterBay High school. He was Admiral Jack McCain's valet in the USMC. He founded Valiant Rigging and Transportation. With a razor sharp wit and sense of humor, he was the greatest teller of jokes and stories. With a ferocious sense of justice, he was the fiercest defender and ally. With generosity and charm, he was the most gracious host... or guest. With curiosity and adventure, he traveled and learned, collecting objects and experiences to share. Husband of Lurdes. Father of Christopher, Rachael and Rebecca Vovo and Grandfather to Toshiro, Hazel, Ginger, James and Ronin. Son of John and Betty. Brother to Anne (and Vinny) and Tom (and Cathleen).
