I met Jonathan 34 years ago in Mexico, negotiating on opposite sides of the deal we were working on. We became friends then and living in different countries and seeing other once or twice a year, we were very close. He was a best friend who always made you felt nothing mattered more to him at that moment than sharing it with you. We shared everything and we got to know our families very well (although they never met). I could talk endlessly about him, he was my friend, thinking about him always bought a smile to my face. That was his gift, embodied love. My friend, I miss you but will always have you close

35+ years ago when Shearson was merging with Lehman Brothers I was responsible that year for hiring the newly minted MBAs into our entry level investment banking division. Jonathan was one of a handful of associates that we hired. It was a very good decision...! Regrettably we had not always stayed in touch over the years but whenever we got together I was always impressed with Jonathan´s enthusiasm, intelligence, and warmth and I would be reminded of that great decision so many years ago. Yesterday while visiting NYC from Florida, I attended services at the synagogue where coincidentally the Levin and my family both belong. I was there on the anniversary of my father-in-laws´ passing. There is that moment in the service that the rabbi reads the names of those congregants who recently passed away. That is when I learned the tragic news...! Now that I am mostly living in Florida I would not have otherwise known. There is something very serendipitous about this..!
My thoughts are with the Levin family at this difficult time and wanted to share that there is yet another member of Jonathan´s considerable fan club who is having difficulty digesting this news..!

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Jon and I went all through school (Grade 1-12) together. He was my tennis partner in PE and always the most loving and kind friend. It was so wonderful to reconnect with him at our 40th reunion in 2016. The world is a little darker with his passing. Debra Block

I was John´s classmate at Cheltenham and Duke. We kept an eye on each other. I always enjoyed our check-ins. I had hoped to run into him at Barclays for the ACC final a few weeks ago-I´m so sorry to hear this sad news. My sympathies and hugs.

My deepest sympathies for your loved ones. I had the pleasure to have a working relationship with Jonathan for four years. He was one of the kindest and most genuine people I've known. May God bless you all.
