I was very much saddened to read of Joe's death. I, along with many others, worked as a research assistant on the Follow Through project that he led 50 years ago. That experience led me to the decision to pursue a doctoral degree. Joe was a kind boss and a kind man who cared deeply about making a difference in children's school experience.
My condolences to his family
