JOSEPH LIEBERMAN

LIEBERMAN--Joseph I. The leadership of ANU-Museum of the Jewish People, formerly Beit Hatfutsot, mourns the loss of its esteemed friend and visionary leader, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman. A grandson of Jewish immigrants who rose to the highest ranks of leadership in the US, he never forgot his roots and was fiercely devoted to Jewish tradition. His passion for Jewish Peoplehood led him to our museum, where he assumed various positions including co-chair of ANU's International Honorary Board. After a recent visit to ANU he said "I felt a lot of gratitude and pride. It is the modern museum that modern Israel and the Jewish people deserve and need. It speaks volumes of the values and content that sustained and advanced us and will strengthen both Israel and the Jewish People in the years ahead."
