JOSEPH PASH Obituary

PASH--Joseph John, Sr., died in New York City at the age of 93 on November 20. Born in Hampton, Minnesota and raised on a farm, he left at 18 to pursue his education earning a BA from the University of Southern California and a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkley. He then traveled east in pursuit of a NYC advertising career working for Doherty, Clifford, Steers & Shenfield, and Needham Harper & Steers responsible for major consumer product advertising campaigns such as Mueller's "It Doesn't Get Lost in The Sauce" and the introduction of one of the first "light" products on the market for Hellman's. He also played for the agency's softball team as its #1 pitcher. He retired from the C.F. Mueller Company and spent his retirement years as a volunteer and contributor to the NYC Marathon, Church of St. Thomas More, and the National Republican Committee. He was a member of the 92nd Street Y Senior Group, an avid sportsman/fisherman and enjoyed opera, golf, and bridge with his long time companion, Elizabeth Stoerk. He is survived by his daughter Jacqueline (Charles Hansen), sons Joseph, Jr. (Eileen Duggan) and Robert (Susan Lamonica) and grandchildren Brian, Kristen, Jennifer, Kevin, Julia and Mark. A wake is scheduled at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Monday, 2-5pm and 7-9pm, November 24, followed by a Mass at The Church of St. Thomas More on East 89th Street on Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Archdiocese of New York's Inner City Scholarship Fund.

Bob and Susan and the entire Pash family,
I. So sorry for your loss. I remember meeting Bob's Dad when we were all management trainees at Chase and went by Bob's apartment one evening. I remembered him as being a very nice man. I hope your family is doing well. Regards, Chuck May (NYC)

My condolences. God bless. What an amazing journey Joe had. A man of many talents. His family and friends to be proud to have known him for sure. The short version of this Irish Blessing tells us: "May God hold Joe in the palm of his hand until we meet again....and we will meet again".

I was so sorry to read about Joe's death. He was my boss at DCS&S many years ago. I had started there as a $60/week trainee in 1960 and Joe took me under his wing and taught me about merchandising and marketing. He was a GREAT boss. Wonderful, dry sense of humor and so smart. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of his family at this time.
