Katherine Janowitz Obituary

JANOWITZ--Katherine Eva, Kathy died suddenly on Friday, July 27th. She was much loved by all who knew her. She was the dear grandmother of Toby, Leo and newborn Sylvie. She was the loving sister-in-law of Diane Locane and aunt of Jennifer Locane. She was the proud mother-inlaw of Eddie Fishman. She also leaves behind Fig, China and Whaley and countless pigeons who will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be at the Riverside Chapel, 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, 11:45 am Tuesday.

I feel lucky to carry joyful memories of Kathy from our early years (seventh and eighth grades) at Hunter, as well as pictures of her in that period. She was a lovely and loving person. My sincerest condolences to the fmaily.

Kathy was the Hunter classmate and bus companion who remains part of us through life. She represented the best of our shared values. We feel cheated that she was cheated of more time with us. May those who were close to her be comforted and be well in all things.
