KERSTIN CARLVANT-BOYSEN Obituary

CARLVANT-BOYSEN-- Kerstin. Born Swedish in 1942, died in a nursing home in Lammhult, Sweden, on September 15, 2025. Cause of death was a stroke having suffered dementia for many years. After emigrating to the US, she graduated in 1978 from Columbia University with a Ph.D. in Art History, specifically Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts. Over the ensuing decades she was an Independent Scholar, using a family home in Bruges as a summer research base. Her lasting work was published in 2012, entitled: "Manuscript Painting in Thirteenth- Century Flanders : Bruges, Ghent and the Circle of the Counts." She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Peter Boysen of New York, and two sisters in Sweden.
