Kevin Dolan

DOLAN--Kevin L., 71, of Boston's Beacon Hill, died February 13, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Matthew and Helen (nee Flaherty) Dolan. Loving husband of Janet E. Dolan for 42 years. Devoted father of Kerry Dolan Slater and Tracy Dolan, cherished grandfather of Alec, Katie, and Megan, and beloved brother of the Rev. Mary Ellen Dolan. Mr. Dolan was a graduate of Framingham High School and Boston College, and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In 1965, he graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and went to work at Time, Inc in New York City, where he ultimately rose to Vice President and Controller. In 1985, he moved to Boston to become President and later also CEO of Little, Brown and Company. He was a valued trustee of Huntington Theater Company in Boston, the National MS Society-Central New England Chapter, and Bennington College in Vermont. And also a longtime member of The Union Club of Boston, The Groucho Club in London, and The Publishers Lunch Club in New York City. His great passion was traveling the world with his family. A memorial service will be held at Mount Auburn Cemetery Bigelow Chapel 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 11am.
