Lauri Lilien Obituary

LILIEN--Lauri D. After a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer, Lauri D. Lilien peacefully passed away on August 30, 2024, coinciding with the birthday of her devoted husband, Steve Schaps - a retired Sharp MFP Dealer of 35 years. Lauri and Steve shared a beautiful 38-year marriage built on love, companionship, and mutual respect. Born and raised in Kew Gardens, Queens, NY, Lauri graduated from SUNY Buffalo in 1981 and went on to build an impressive 35-year career as an executive in the publishing industry, contributing her talents to renowned organizations such as Simon & Schuster and Black Dog & Leventhal. Lauri's compassion knew no bounds. A passionate advocate for animal rescue and protection, she touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. To Lauri, no one was a stranger - just a friend she hadn't met yet. Even in her final days, she carried herself with unyielding kindness, grace, and warmth. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve, and their cherished feline companion, T.C. (Top Cat), who brought endless joy to their lives.
