LAWRENCE MARCO Obituary

MARCO--Lawrence. Larry Marco of New York, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on October 20, 2024, surrounded by his family. Larry was born on December 20, 1951, to the late Sara (Gross) and Noah Marco, to whom he was a devoted son. He attended Brooklyn College and Brooklyn Law School, where he met his wife, Jane Fuerst. Together they raised their two children, Michael and Larissa, and made a beautiful life - first in Queens and then on the Upper East Side. Larry was a Senior Partner at Podell, Schwartz, Schechter & Banfield, where he advocated for his clients with distinction for over 35 years. He was a proud member and trustee of Park East Synagogue and a longtime member and former board member of Hillcrest Jewish Center and Young Israel of Jamaica Estates. A curious and engaged citizen of the world, Larry loved to travel, visit museums, and attend performances at Lincoln Center. He savored a good cup of coffee and enjoyed hosting dinners, a walk in Central Park, all kinds of music, and James Bond. Larry loved life and, above all, he loved his family. He blessed us with his endless affection, support, generosity, and wisdom and filled our lives with joy. He showed incredible strength and resolve in the face of life's gravest challenges. We will forever be guided and lifted by his memory and example. Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Jane, and his adoring children, Michael and Larissa, son-in-law, Joey, granddaughter, Alexandra, and mother-in-law, Florence.

Larry was a very good and a very nice man! He loved The Beatles and music. And was quite eclectic as to his interests and knowledge. I really enjoyed his company and his being. God bless him and his family.
