LEONARD FASSLER

1931 - 2021

FASSLER--Leonard J., 89, of New York passed away on January 8, 2021. Born on August 14, 1931, Len grew up in the Bronx, graduated from City College with a degree in accounting and served in the Army during the Korean War. While working full time, he attended Fordham Law School at night on the GI bill. Len's legal practice included criminal, family and corporate law. His background in accounting proved particularly helpful in working with start- up companies. Eventually, he helped start and finance companies in industries as diverse as web hosting, broadcasting, real estate, energy and computer integration. A true entrepreneur, he served as the founder, chairman, executive officer and board member of numerous companies and charities. Len is remembered as a friend, mentor and confidant. He loved his family, his country and a good cigar. He was predeceased by his first wife Joan (nee Greenburg), second wife Bernice (nee Katz) and son-in-law Paul Schwartzberg. He is survived by his children David (Kathy), Ellen; stepchildren Allan, Ellen (Barry), Paula (Jude); brother Norman and sister- in-law Rebekah; four grandchildren and many relatives, friends and colleagues who loved, admired and respected him.
