LEVINE--Dr. Leonard J.,

died February 29, 2016. A renowned Orlando plastic surgeon and former member of the Air Force Reserve Medical Corps, Len Levine was a truly extraordinary person. He was the most genuine of human beings. His kindness, warmth, laughter and humor will be missed by all. He dedicated his life to making the lives of those around him better, especially his family. Born March 20, 1943, he attended Wake Forest University, transferring to Monmouth University to complete his premedical studies. He received his Medical degree from the University of Bologna, interned at Beth Israel hospital in Newark, then trained in general and plastic surgery at Orlando Regional Medical center. He rose to department chief at Orlando's Lucerne Hospital. Dr. Levine was preceded in death by his mother, Clare. He is survived by his father, Irving Levine (wife Rose) of Boca Raton Florida; his daughter, Thea Rebecca Kovarik (husband Matt) and two granddaughters, Ava and Mila; his sister, Barbara Laufer (husband Sam) of Fair Haven, NJ, his three nephews Michael, David and James, his niece, Kate Laufer Gorenstein (husband Jeff) and great nephew, Will. Len is also survived by his partner in life, Carla DeLoach, with whom he experienced love, laughter, and many adventures. His spirit and generosity will continue on through his alma mater, Monmouth University, where he established an academic scholarship in his name. Donations can be made to this scholarship fund at Monmouth University or to The Orlando Health Foundation.

I am sorry I only recently found out about Dr. Levine. I was 18 and entered ORMC after a horrific car accident. My blessing was that Doc was doing late night rounds and happened across me in the emergency room. That's where a friendship began...my face was badly damaged and nurse later told me that he came into the ER where I was and cleaned my face so he could see the wounds...unbeknownst to me he leaned in and kissed me on the head and said "you're be fine...I'll take care of you:...and he did after years I would stop in his beautiful office and I'd wait to see him if not only for a moment ,but he always made time...I loved this man like he was family...he is truly missed

I was Dr. Leonard Levine´s patient at Lucerne Hospital in Orlando, Florida. I can´t believe he´s gone. I can´t stop the tears from flowing. I´ve searched for Dr. Levine for years. One day a nurse showed me the building off Gore Street. I drove to the building but I was afraid to enter. It was so private, I thought I was trespassing.
I wanted him to know how much I appreciated him for saving my life.
He made me realize that my life was not over when I thought there was no hope. I was only in my twenties with a rapidly growing keloid at my neck, from a previous surgery. The doctor told me to wear high neck dresses. Thank God, I found Dr. Levine. He and his beautiful nurse got to work and helped me. Thanks for changing my life.

It’s still so hard to believe he’s gone. Dr. Levine, or Lenny, as I used to call him was my best friend’s father. He had the most beautiful smile and was always so kind and happy when we were around. I used to Love to go to his house and visit and spend time with him. We always laughed and had so much fun.
One year we went out to dinner for his bday and I had the entire restaurant sing happy birthday to him. He was embarrassed but I think he equally loved it. He loved Thea so much and was a wonderful man! I know his birthday is coming up soon and we will celebrate him. Miss you Lenny!

I'm in shock just looking up his phone number and found this instead. Truly sad , so sad !
I've known Len since 1974 and when he decided to remodel his pool I'm proud that he recalled that I was in that business.
Being apart of remodeling Lenny's pool in Belle Isle in the 90's was a joy too work with him. Later he referred a lot of friends too me in the early 2000 when I opened my own company, saying it must be hard breaking into the good ole boy's network .
I knew his beautiful daughter Thea and Lenny was so proud of her.
My prayers for all the family and Lenny was a great man and amazing doctor, loved by all .
I will always be thankful for our friendship ❤

I knew Lenny in Bologna in the summer of 1970. To say he changed the course of my life is an understatement. His warmth, love of Italy, and amazing laughter will always be in my heart. I will never forget the adventures in his Campbell's soup tomato red vw. He was a very special man. I can only imagine the grief his family feels. You are in my prayers.

I was saddened to learn of Dr. Levine's passing today. The first surgery Len performed on me he was a Surgical Resident in Orlando and he told me that because I had the confidence in him at that time, he would give me a discount on any additional work that I requested! and He did! What a wonderful wonderful Doctor.
Len performed several additional surgeries on me and because I had moved to Pennsylvania he would put me up in the cottages near the office.
I will never forget this wonderful Surgeon and he and his family will always be in my prayers.

I just learned of Dr. Levine's passing today, and offer my most sincere condolences. As a Sales Rep in the 80's I called on his office regularly, and always enjoyed the experience.

Leonard Levine operated on me 43 times in 20 years for a recurring problem. He saved me from insurmountable scarring. He took unbelievable care of me and I am forever in his debt. I loved him personally as well as professionally. Not only was I his patient, I worked by his side as a nurse in the hospital. He was loved by everyone and will be missed greatly. I know he loved his family so much and was so proud of his daughter.

i have known len since 7th grade in oakhurst, nj. we also attended monmouth college together.
he was a good friend, always available, and the times we spent together had lasting memories.
it saddens me to have lost such an outgoing and friendly person.

My sincerest condolences to the Levine family. Lenny and I were classmates at Monmouth College. I thought of him often over the years. He was an absolutely brilliant student. In fact, he had it all, great personality, good looks, and was in excellent physical condition. He once did over 100 consecutive pushups in my living room to the amazement of everyone present. I am so proud to have been his friend, even for that short duration of time and space we shared in the mid-1960s. I lost contact with Lenny after he got his Corvette and moved to Florida. I hope that his life was filled with love, peace, happiness, and joy, because that is what he gave to so many.

This morning was such a shock to my wife Barbara and myself. As a pharmaceutical rep with Roche Labs I had known Len since he was a resident. I saw him become a wonderful plastic surgeon and I always though of him as a friend.He will be so missed by all and will be in our prayers.

Was so heartbroken to hear about Dr. Levine. I was fortunate to have worked for him for ? 12 years. Started out on Miller Street moved over to the house on Gore.
