LESLIE BELLER Obituary

BELLER--Leslie.

Prospect Park Alliance and its Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers are deeply saddened by the loss of Leslie Langworthy Beller. Leslie joined the Alliance Board in 1990 and for over 27 years was a driving force of the organization, including serving as Secretary and a member or co-chair of several committees. Leslie championed the restoration of some of the Park's most iconic features, including the woodland Ravine and historic Boathouse, while campaigning for dramatic improvements, such as the celebrated LeFrak Center at Lakeside. A magnetic personality and fearless fundraiser, she helped grow the Alliance from a small grassroots organization into a professional and renowned leader in the field. Leslie was a true force of nature and a great friend, and she will be missed. The Alliance sends its sympathy to Leslie's husband, Alan, and to the rest of her beloved family.

Leslie taught me so much about how to be a mother and how to be a friend. Her decency and kindness live on.

I'm so very sorry for yours and the community's great loss. Keep your eyes fixed upon the unfailing promises of God that soon there will be no more sorrow, pain or death. It won't take away the pain; but it can help you to endure.

I am so very saddened to learn of this news. I only met Leslie once or twice (through Claudia & Wilson) but I remember that great big smile and the warmth and happiness that radiated from her. My deepest condolences to the whole family.
