PERKIN--Leslie Manning Bergesch. Of New York City, on April 29, 2024. Age 74. Loving wife of the late Richard "Dick" Talmage Perkin, devoted mother of Caroline Suydam Perkin Los Arcos (Jose Luis). Loving stepmother of Kristina Perkin Davison and Nicolas Rhinelander Perkin. Proud grandmother of Isabelle Talmage and Charles Rhinelander Los Arcos and step-grandmother to Olympia, Henry, Amelie, Palmer and Talmage. Born on August 11, 1949, Leslie was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Bergesch II. An alumna of Convent of the Sacred Heart in Menlo Park, CA, she received a B.A. degree from Briarcliff College. A lifelong New Yorker, she was known for her dedication to philanthropy in both New York City and East Hampton. Leslie served as an Administrative Board Member at the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering for over 35 years. An avid horticulturist, she chaired the Fresh Flower Program at MSK for over 30 years, a program committed to improving patient quality of life as well as their families. Prior to devoting her life to patient advocacy, Mrs. Perkin was active in public relations. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by a brother, Charles F. Bergesch III of Los Angeles. A sister, Allison Kelly Bergesch, died in 2023. A memorial service will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 980 Park Ave., New York City, at 10:00am on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leslie's memory may be sent to the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
