Lew was a steadfast supporter of our work with the unhoused in NYC. We learned from Lew. He asked insightful questions and demanded thorough and thoughtful responses. We grew closer, professionally and personally. Judith Rosenfeld joined his board and worked with Lew to advance his goals to help undocumented women and children.
On a personal note, Lew called me when one of my parents passed and he brought a smile to my face and left me feeling loved and grateful. I will never forget that conversation.
My Breaking Ground colleagues and I will always have a deep affection for and enduring respect and admiration for Lew. He has left an indelible mark on our organization and on many of us, personally.
May his memory forever be a blessing.
