Lorena Gwinn Obituary
LORENA IMOGENE GWINN, 94, of Ravenswood, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Imogene was born on December 9, 1930, at Clio in Roane County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Opie D. and Mable S. Harper Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clyde Floyd Gwinn; two brothers Doral and Shelton Jackson, three sisters Doris Jackson, Iris Jarvis, and Mary Kathleen Greenlief. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law, Kathy Gaye Smith Gwinn.
She is survived by a son, Franklin (Frank) Dale Gwinn and his wife Roxanna Darlene Gwinn of Ravenswood, West Virginia; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Gwinn and her husband Steven Mack Trotter of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also surviving Imogene are grandsons: Jeremy Dale Gwinn and wife Amber Elizabeth Gwinn of Ravenswood, West Virginia; Randall (Randy) Lee Gwinn and wife Sheila Grace Gwinn of St. George, Utah; Jackson Lucas (Luke) Trotter and Kaitlyn Anne Brock of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Trenton Douglas Donohew of Evans, West Virginia. Also surviving Imogene are two great granddaughters Natalie Anne Gwinn of Cincinnati, OH and Gabrielle Elizabeth Gwinn of Denver, Colorado. Surviving siblings include sisters Shelby Gunter of St. Albans, West Virginia; Patricia Schnieder of Columbus, Ohio; and brother Corbett Jackson of Suffolk, Virginia. In addition to siblings, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family wants to express their gratitude to her dedicated caregivers who made the last of her 94 years a time of joy and laughter.
Visitation will be held 1 until 3 p.m., on Sunday, September 7, with the Celebration of Life
Memorial Service immediately following at Roush's Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV. Pastor Karin Ritchie will officiate. Interment will be held at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, West Virginia following the service.
In reflecting upon the life of Imogene, we are reminded of Timothy's message: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (RSV, 2 Timothy 4:7).
