LOUIS KAUFMANN Obituary

KAUFMANN--Louis Ronald, 1929 - 2025, died peacefully in his sleep in New York City on Monday, February 3rd. Beloved son of Sydney and Rosalind Kaufmann, Louis was born in New York City. Though he spent time in Miami, FL, the city was always his home. He attended Forest Hills High School followed by the University of Miami and then to the Army. After working for a music publisher handing out sheet music after his stint in the Army, Louis began his career in an Ad Agency. But his true calling was as an interior decorator where he spent more than 50 years making Manhattan apartments beautiful. Louis is someone who everyone gravitated to and when you got to know him, he became like family. He will be fondly remembered and profoundly missed by his "Adopted children" Jill and John Newhouse, his dear friends, John and Rainey Erwin, Alice Odette, Stuart Maletsky, Lee Gutmacher, Karen Newhouse, Jim Lifton, Kecia Lifton and Carol Kiernan. Dear "Uncle Louis" will remain forever in the hearts of Ross and Karly Newhouse and Alexander Denzler. A special thanks for years of loyal help and friendship to Claudette George and Carlos Aroyo. We're sure he is having drinks with the many friends who went before him, and we know they are so very glad to see him. Luv, Luv, Luv, you dear sweet man.
