Dr. Cote treated my uncle -- actor, artist, and playwright Morton Lichter, who suffered from Parkinsons Disease. The compassion and personal interest he showed my uncle was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I am so grateful for his brilliance and kindness.

Dr. Cote was a wonderful teacher, when I was a resident at the Neurological Institute. I remember him saying once on rounds, "Anyone with a functioning cerebral cortex will have a psychogenic overlay to his or her neurological problem." I still teach that.

Dr. Cote was one of the first neurologists I worked with when launching the World Parkinson Congresses in 2006. He was instrumental in my learning about PD, and was one of the kindest people I had the pleasure of working with. I heard many of his patients describe him as an 'angel', he was very loved, and he clearly loved what he did. He will be missed.
