CAROTHERS--Lucille Klau.

of Cincinnati, OH, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018. She was 94 years old. Twink was born in Manhattan, NY to David W. Klau and Sadie K. Klau. She was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Charles O. Carothers and the late Robert D. Stern; the loving mother of Ellen Stern Kerr, John P. Stern and the late David R. Stern. She was the cherished mother- in-law of Gail Weintraub Stern and the late Yasmin Bar-Dor; the dear sister of Hon. Felice K. Shea, Paula K. Oppenheim and James D. Klau. She was the proud grandmother of Gabriel, Daniel and Haran Stern and of Dr. Emily Kerr. She was a fond stepmother to Dr. Thomas Carothers, Cole Carothers, and Lisa Morgan. Twink attended The Birch Wathen School and Connecticut College. She was actively involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors, was a primary benefactor of the Ensemble Theater Cincinnati, established the Lucille and Charles Carothers Theater, and served on the Board of Trustees for the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. She was a member Emeritus of the Board of Overseers of Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion. Private family services were held followed by a reception at the Klau Library of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
