LUKE MCCARTHY

McCARTHY--Luke Kilduff. Luke Kilduff McCarthy died at Greenwich Hospital, surrounded by his family, on January 16, 2025. He was 84 years old. Luke was born in Boston, MA on November 6, 1940 to Luke and Catherine McCarthy (nee Mooney). The eldest of six children, he was educated at St. Gabriel's School, Boston College High School, and Boston College. Luke began his career in corporate finance in San Francisco as audit manager at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Company and was a division controller at Ampex Corporation. He worked for North American Philips in Chicago, Fort Wayne, and New York, becoming VP and group controller. He was subsequently CFO and treasurer for several companies, including Plessey, Technicom International, Decision Industries, and Tridex. He founded LKM Associates in 1991 and was a successful business consultant until his retirement. In 1966, Luke married the late Ellen Daly (divorced 2003) and was a devoted father to Luke, Liam, and Nell, raising them in Fairfield, CT. He married Anita Keefe in 2004 and lived with her in Greenwich, CT until his passing. He was world- travelled, a horseman, and widely read, particularly in history. He was an active member of the GRTA and riding with Anita was a true passion for him. He loved New England in all seasons, and late in life found summers on Little Deer Isle in Maine with his family to be ideal. Independent in thought and bearing, he was his own person and always considered himself fortunate in life. He is survived by his sister Catherine Morrison; his children Luke McCarthy and Jennifer Shepard, Liam and Stefania McCarthy, and Nell Daly; his grandchildren Helen, Kathleen, Dusty, Gwendolyn, and Beaudyn; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul McCarthy, and sisters AnnMarie McCarthy, Elizabeth Mathers, and Mary Joubert. He is to be buried at Holy-hood Cemetery in Brookline, MA, at the Mooney family gravesite. Donations may be made to Boston College High School. May he rest in peace.
