MARC KALECH Obituary

KALECH--Marc, 64, of White Plains, NY died on October 19, 2012. He survived by his loving wife WCBS-TV political reporter, Marcia Kramer, two step-children, Margot Runes and Max Runes, sister Joan Moverman and his two fur kids, Moe Kalech and Curlty Kalech. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in political science. He was born and raised in New York City and stared working at the New York Post as a copy boy in 1965. He worked his way up to reporter, night city editor, and metropolitan editor before he was named managing editor in 1993. He said he was most proud of creating the so called weeping Alexander front page on March 16, 1993 during a staff revolt against then owner Abe Hirshfeld. Funeral services will be Monday, October 22 at Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel, 575 King St., Port Chester, NY.
