MARK DISTEFANO Obituary

DISTEFANO--Mark, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Thursday, the 17th of November at the age of 64 after a battle with ALS. Born January 13, 1952 in Jersey City, he was the eldest son of Carmen and Eleanor DiStefano. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor, wife of 41 years, Maggie, his children, Alexis and Caitlin, their spouses, Eddie and Michael, and his four grandchildren, Riley, Parker, Rhys and Penn, all of whom adored him. He was the Chairman of Nova Corp., a third generation family business. He was a member of the Board of Trustees at the Elisabeth Morrow School in Englewood, NJ and a member of the New York Yacht Club. He cherished his time in Southampton with his family and will be remembered most of all as a generous, loving, selfless husband, father, grandfather, son and friend with a magnetic sense of humor and limitless appreciation for life. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. A memorial in celebration of his life will be held. I was the youngest cousin in our family so I didn’t have much interaction with Mark let alone most of my cousins. I do remember he being very kind, especially to his mother. I remember his smile and his caring demeanor. I remember him going out of his way to talk to me, which meant a lot to me as I was always kinda ignored as I was young. I remember his voice, “ Hi Bobby, how are you doing?? Etc “ I wish more people were like him.

I just came to know about the sad demise of our dear leader Mark. I had only known him for a short period of three years while working on data center project in Dubai. He loved me so much. Every time he used to come to Dubai he would personally seek my advice on many different topics. I will miss him. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Rest in peace Mark.

My heart is empty today. Mark was a true friend and mentor to me when I worked for him at Nova. My fondest memories are going to see Jackie Mason on broadway with many times. And laughing so hard we really like that type of humor. My deepest sympathy goes out to Marks family and the many people that he touched.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Mark was a very thoughtful and wonderful person, who embraced life and was a true family man. He was the pioneer in his field and respected globally by his peers. I was fortunate to spend years working with Mark and experienced many magnificent and memorable moments, to this very day share with others. My deepest sympathy to his wonderful family

In memory of a great, great man..a leader, a confidant, and a friend.
I've had the pleasure of knowing Mark and working side by side with him for more than half my life.
Fair to say my life as it is today, is because of Mark and his support.
He steadily stood by my side during my own personal tragedy in life, and
For that, I thank him.
You will always be remembered, and greatly missed. Sail Away my friend
