Frans and Ellen van der Wielen
July 7, 2025
Sometime in September 1999, you came into Ellen´s and my life. You walked into our front yard, sat down with us, and we shared our first beers together. During the three years we lived in Rye, you remained our friend, always there whenever we needed help. And what a great time we had on Ellsworth Street!
When we moved back to the Netherlands in 2002, we stayed in touch and kept each other updated on all that was going on in our lives. And then, suddenly, everything went quiet...
Ellen and I - and certainly our families as well - still think of you often. We will never forget you. You were special, and you always will be.

I can't believe it's been five years. Mark, we think of you so often and we miss your warm presence. We often reminisce about life on our street when you were the mayor of Ellsworth and most Friday afternoons meant a spontaneous happy hour. You were and will always be loved.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him...through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
I know Mark from St. John's, and always enjoyed sharing and serving the Mass with him. My prayers and sympathy go out to his family and friends.
