MARTIN GREENHOUSE

GREENHOUSE--Martin. Marty Greenhouse, 75, of White Plains, NY, lost his long and hard fought battle with Multiple Myeloma and Acute Myeloid Leukemia on November 12th surrounded by his loving family and a dear group of supportive friends who were never more than a phone call away. Marty was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 1, 1950 to Nettie (Friedman) and George Greenhouse whose undying love and support taught him how to be a parent, husband and friend. While his early childhood was spent on Franklin Square, Long Island, the family moved to Scranton, PA in 1958. Like many of his friends, Marty was given the choice of the three state schools to attend for college. He chose Penn State, and lucky for him he did. It's there he met his wife of 52 years Linda (Arost). Along with his business partner and friend, Bill Berenter, Marty's talent and creativity built the advertising agency Berenter Greenhouse and Webster. His campaign for Bed Bath and Beyond was instrumental in the design and launch of the ubiquitous 20% off coupon. Other clients included The Marvel Universe, Starbucks, Vtech Electronics, Bailey's Irish Cream, Fox TV and many more. But Marty's greatest strength, was building friendships and making people laugh. During retirement, Marty split his time between the Hamptons, Boca Raton and White Plains. But the time he valued the most, was the time he spent with his family. His devoted wife, Linda, his daughter Hillary (Justin Wyatt), his son David (Seth Latimer) and his grandson, Oliver Wyatt. Marty is also survived by his brothers, Joel Greenhouse and Scott Greenhouse. Services for the funeral will be held at Central Synagogue, 652 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York on Sunday, November 16th at 11am. Interment will be held following the service at Sharon Gardens, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, New York. Donations may be made to: Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital Blood Cancer Division.
