MARTIN SUSSMAN

SUSSMAN--Martin S., passed away on October 21. He was 78. Since 1961, Mr. Sussman was a practicing attorney in the State of New York, and a founding member of the law firm Seltzer, Sussman, Haberman & Heitner, LLP. Mr. Sussman was a director

of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF) since 1989. With over fifty years experience as a practicing attorney, Mr. Sussman brought a broad insight into various aspects of business law applicable to Griffon. For the past five years, Mr. Sussman served as Griffon's lead independent director. "Marty was not only an esteemed director, he was a great friend, and will be missed by all who knew him," said Griffon Chairman of the Board, Harvey R. Blau. Mr. Sussman graduated from City College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in accounting. He obtained his law degree, as well as his Masters Degree (LLM) in taxation for New York University School of Law. Mr. Sussman was a member of the New York State Bar Association as well as a member of the Real Property Trust & Estates Section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Sussman is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; daughters, Lynne and Caryn; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Nicole, Stephanie and Danielle. Services will be held Friday at 10:00am at Gutterman's Chapel, 8000 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, New York.
