MARTY STAFF Obituary

STAFF--Marty, a larger-than-life figure who worked for the fashion industry's biggest names, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Joseph Abboud and Max Azria, during his 30-year-plus career, has died at the age of 70. Staff was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in December, and peacefully passed away Tuesday, May 11 with his wife Robin, his family and friends by his side in Bucks County, PA. His greatest pleasure was to spend time at the farm with his wife, who is a dance producer in New York City and Pennsylvania. Marty is survived by his wife of 46 years, four Anguillan rescues, his golden retriever, Hamilton, and cherished 'Farm Family.' Emerson's words "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded," inspired the mission for the creation of the foundation, Marty's Light, to honor his legacy and bring awareness to glioblastoma, and changes greatly needed in our health care system. A 'Celebration of Marty's Life' is planned for this summer at his beloved farm. For details: email Robin at [email protected].
