My condolences to the family. My mother, Carolyn Duggan, started the Bridal Registry in the Hackensack store many years ago. My mother adored"Mr.Traub" and he was very good to her.She worked there for 30 years, she was 77 when she retired.I met him once while working at Bloomies during college; that's when he was CEO and he made everyone feel as though we were all family. It's never been the same. My mother passed away two years ago,but I'll never forget how she spoke glowingly of him.

I met Mr. Traub when I was part of the team that opened the store in downtown Chicago. When he asked where I had come from and I told him Mark Cross, he laughed and said I was now certainly part of a much larger family. For some reason I felt comfortable enough with him to say I had hoped I would do alright with Bloomingdales; it was all so different from my past life. He laughed again, rubbed my shoulder and said, "Remember, I said FAMILY. You'll do great. WE'LL do great." This was in 1988 and it feels like yesterday. Obviously he was a great man. He was also a nice man. My sincere condolences to the Traub family.

Sorry about your loss. Also sorry I didn't meet Mr. Traub. My brother lost his life outside Metz on Nov. 10,1944. I wonder if Mr. Traub could shed some light on the activities of that day or before and after. I regret not knowing more about Mr.Traub before his demise.

3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

I worked in the Bloomingdales television department before, during and after Marvin's tenure with Bloomingales. He new me well and we had a friendly relationship. When VCR's first came out he asked me to install one in his apartment. I had the pleasure of meeting his wife many times and a few times when she came shopping she stopped by to say hello. Marvin Traub was a giant and Bloomingales owes its great success to him. I will remember him fondly. Al Riggi
