This is so terribly sad. I was looking up her name to find a way to get in touch with her. She was a wonderful
Friend, editor and supporter of my work when she was at People. I am so sorry to hear of her loss.

MC was an incredibly dear friend, we would chat about documentaries and photography. I really treasured my days visiting with her and Jenny. MC had the most wonderful sense of humor and I know wherever she is now, she's making a million jokes. We have lost a treasure.

My mother, Barbara Marden Gietz Brugh passed away May 3, 2023 at 94. She loved deeply the Mardens and spoke fondly of Mary Carroll. I personally enjoyed several conversations with her as well. May she rest in peace!
