Ah, Melanie-
Your art is on my walls, your face in my mind's eye, your energy a visceral memory...your physical being will be sorely missed, but your spirit remains with us.
Much love to all who mourn her presence in our lives.

How stunningly vivid are my memories of you, Melanie. So truthfully beautiful in your honest search for freedom and friendship. I was a fortunate observer and your example was so affirrming. You would be surprised that decades later, your impact is still deeply felt. I will miss you more, with gratitude always.

Mel! I will never forget our joyous dinner parties in that little cinderblock dorm room in Lourie-Love....your "harlot sauce" and pasta...the sherry and wine...the Stones on the record player and our "Maenad" (your word) dancing well into the night. You were a terrific, magnanimous friend and I will never forget your multi-faceted intelligence, creativity--and warmth. I will miss you and hold your memory dear to my heart always. Thank you for all you shared with me.

We had good times back when: downtown artist parties, elaborate Melanie dinners, Dan Lynch nights and the blues... We stayed in touch. We wrote and talked. We were family.

Melanie was enormously creative. She kept a place in all our hearts since college. She always will.
