Coach Doc Fleischer was my cross country coach at Lehman College, CUNY for 2 years of my eligibility. A great guy who had an awesome sense of humor, we all loved running under his guidance. He was also a father figure to many of the guys and always was positive and pushing us to be the best athletes we could be. Prayers and RIP Coach.

"Mike, or Dr. Fleischer as I always addressed him, was not only a colleague but also a dear friend. Our paths intersected at Lehman College in The Bronx, where we shared memorable moments both on and off the field. We engaged in spirited intramural football and basketball matches against Lehman´s students, and Dr. Fleischer´s athleticism and camaraderie left a lasting impression.
When he assumed the role of athletic director at Lehman College, Dr. Fleischer entrusted me with significant responsibilities. I stepped into Nick Testa´s shoes as the varsity baseball coach, thanks to his support. Under his guidance, we secured new uniforms and even acquired a baseball pitching machine. Dr. Fleischer´s vision extended beyond the diamond-Lehman College embarked on Spring training in Florida, an exciting opportunity for our team.
Additionally, he tapped me to serve as the assistant basketball coach. It´s worth noting that my connection with Lehman College (formerly known as Hunter College Uptown) coincided with Dr. Fleischer´s tenure in the athletic department. Later, as colleagues, I continued to admire his leadership.
Dr. Fleischer was more than a mentor; he exemplified greatness. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Allow me to introduce myself: I am Wayne Naylor, and I had the honor of both playing for and teaching at Lehman College (formerly known as Hunter College Uptown)."
