MICHAEL GORDON

1943 - 2021

GORDON--Michael Brian, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021 at the age of 78. Mike was born January 15, 1943 in New York City to Mary ("Grandma Gorgeous") Gordon and professional baseball player, Sid Gordon. Mike and his brother Rich spent much of their childhood traveling Interstate 95 to attend spring training during Sid's baseball career. Inspired by his father, Mike pursued baseball and secured a spot as a catcher with the St. Louis Cardinal organization for two plus seasons. Eventually, he returned to New York, where, under the Koch Administration, he worked for the Mayor's Office of Midtown Enforcement, with a focus on rehabilitating Times Square. During this time, Mike met the love of his life, Sonia Moskowitz, at a gym in midtown Manhattan. Professionally, Mike joined the Argo Corporation and later established his own business Samatt Research Services, Inc,. focusing on investigative work within the real estate industry. Mike was warm, kind, and loved to laugh. His life was defined by his love and devotion to his family and friends. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia, his children, Sam (wife Nicole), Julia (husband Adam), and Katie, and his two grandchildren, Spencer and Eloise. He is also survived by his brother Rich and his family, as well as countless other family members, friends, and colleagues. Mike will forever be remembered as an extraordinary friend, and world class father and grandfather.
