We lived too far away for cousins to have contact, but I remember Michael's visit to us in Montreal, probably in the early 1960s. Still, he is missed. Arthur Stampleman

Mike was the gold standard as a managing heir to a creative artists legacy. His custody and care of Ira Gershwin´s gifts gave them new life and enabled a new generation to appreciate what Ira brought to the world. Mike will be missed by all of us who work in the Creative cultural sector.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music and its staff, we extend to Jean and family our profound condolences. As president of the KWF, it was a privilege to know and work with Mike for several decades in preserving and promoting the shared legacy of Ira and Kurt, in Lady in the Dark, Firebrand of Florence, and Where Do We Go from Here? His interests and expertise were broad and his common sense a gift to all his collaborators. May his memory be a blessing to us all.

Sending so much love and condolences to Michael's family - Michael was such a vibrant, wonderful part of San Francisco, and an incredible steward of the history and music of the Gershwins.

Sorry to read of Mike's passing. I was a sitter for Lara and Burke when I was a teenager and they were toddlers. Watched them when Mike and Jean were skiing and also in New York city staying with their grandparents. Fond memories for me. Condolences to you all.
