Just returning from much traveling and discovered the sad news. I had the great pleasure of meeting Murray and his wife Dorothy when they purchased art works from meincluding a pen and ink drawing of Nathan's. We also spent a lovely evening together at my home. I will always treasure the memories.

I remember hearing only good things about your family thru my Grandmother, Parents,, Aunts and uncles. We are related somehow thru Sam Handwerker, and the Stein Family. My grandmother came over from Russia with a Handwerker in 1907. I am so glad they all came to this country and contributed so wonderfully in every way. May you find peace and contentment knowing your family was respected and loved by so many

May he find eternal happiness in the house and arms of God. The Handwerkers are American icons. They were always good to the NYPD when the Widows and Orphans day was run at Steeplechase. Good, solid, hard working Americans!!!

I would like to thank you for the best hot dogs that I ever ate. I have become spoiled and will only eat Nathan's. I had my first Nathan while on vacation in Nevada but soon discovered that I could get them at the supermarket where I lived. My favorite is still hot and slightly toasted off the grill. Whenever my family has a bar-b-que, I bring a large package of Nathan's. Your father's legacy lives on in every bite. Thank you

As a child in 1947, my family lived in Coney Island for a year. Nathan's was the best. My late brother, Jack, loved their chow mein sandwiches, which they no longer make. My favorite was hot dogs, fries (the best in the world), and the best pineapple drink that they also don't carry. My husband and I left Brooklyn in '62 for the midwest, but when we came back to visit family, the first stop was always Nathan's. Our kids were born and raised in Illinois but we taught them what the best franks, fries, etc. was and they still love them. When I found Nathan's hot dogs in the supermarket, my joy knew no bounds. It's the only frank we eat and I've introduced many people to them. We now live in Southern California and still relish those dogs. Wish we could get the fries, but we're happy that we can get the franks. Thank you to your family and we wish to convey our sympathies on the death of Mr. Handwerker.

My mother and father lived in NY years ago. They had always talked about Coney Island and Nathan's like it was yesterday. I have been hooked on Nathan's for years after finding them in my local grocery store. Nathan's are GREAT TASTING HOTDOGS! I can eat it just by dipping the frank into the mustard, plain, mustard and kraut, with or without bun or a slice of white bread. DELICIOUS!!!
Thanks Nathan and Murray!

My Mom grew up in Brooklyn and I recall her mentioning the famous Nathan hot dog when they went to Coney Island. Every time I see a package on a shelf in the store, I cannot help but recall Mom's grand opinion of it being the best hot dog ever! RIP Mr. Handwerker, and peace to the family.

Mr. Handwerker's legacy is to get the most out of the meat. For many years I operated the snout grinder at Blue Bell Packing Company in Du Quoin, Illinois. At that plant we always looked up to Mr. Handwerker's fine example. Nathan's natural skin was always the finest hot dog and it still is. Mr. Handwerker will be missed.
