We at "Dissent" send our condolences to Murray's family and mourn his passing. He was a constant fount of interesting articles from the first year of the magazine's founding until recently, making the transition from print to Web commentary. It was a pleasure to work with him as an editor and to participate in meetings with him as a colleague. His knowledge and range of interests were large, his intellect keen, and his commitment steadfast.

All of us at Dissent magazine mourn Murray's death. He was a comrade over many years, and wrote often, filling the magazine with insightful arguments and wonderful wit. We will read and reread what he wrote; we will not forget him.
