NORMAN BELMONTE

BELMONTE--Norman. The officers, board, and staff of the American Technion Society (ATS) lament the passing of Norman Belmonte of Cliffside Park, NJ and Boulder, CO, an admired leader and inspiring friend. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Technion Board of Governors, past president of ATS - New York Metro, and a director emeritus of the ATS National Board of Directors. Together with his beloved wife, Vivian, he was a Technion Guardian, the highest distinction reserved for supporters of the University. In recognition of his passion and commitment, the Technion honored him with an Honorary Doctorate in 2005, and an Honorary Fellowship in 1997. Among his myriad gifts to the Technion were support for the Henry Taub Distinguished Visitors Program, the New York Metropolitan Region Nanoelectronics Project, and the Marco & Louise Mitrani Fellowship Fund. The lifelong relationships he maintained with many of the students he supported belied his belief that they are the very heart of its work and the key to Israel's future. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Vivian, daughters Dina and Elyce, and the entire Belmonte family.
