PATRICIA KLINGENSTEIN Obituary

KLINGENSTEIN--Patricia D. The trustees and staff of NewYork Historical mourn the passing of Patricia D. Klingenstein, our longest-serving trustee and great benefactor of the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library. A beautiful and elegant woman, and loving partner and wife to John, who predeceased her, Pat's keen intellect and extraordinary generosity have left an indelible imprint on virtually every aspect of our institution, from education to public programs, to the museum and, of course, to our renowned library so beloved by Pat and whose name honors her. Pat's ever-willingness to help with wise counsel and friendship, her deft committee leadership, and her dedication to New-York Historical will be sorely missed. We know that her spirit lives on in her wonderful family, for whom her, and John's, seriousness of purpose and exceedingly generous philanthropy have been both model and guide. Our hearts go out to Pat's children, Tom, Nancy, Andy, Sally, and daughterin-law Julie, and to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes Hsu-Tang, Chair Andrew Tisch, Exec. Comm. Chair Pam Schafler, Chair Emerita Roger Hertog, Chair Emeritus Louise Mirrer, President & CEO Valerie Paley, Sue Ann Weinberg Director of the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library
