PATRICIA KLINGENSTEIN Obituary

KLINGENSTEIN--Patricia. The Trustees and staff of The New York Public Library mourn the passing of Patricia Klingenstein, a deeply dedicated and devoted member of the Library family. She and her beloved late husband, John, had already been very generous longstanding Library supporters when she joined our Board of Trustees in 1996, becoming a Life Trustee in 2006. Pat brought great enthusiasm and commitment to the Library's work. She was a passionate advocate for the branch libraries, books and reading, and education programs to support the learning of children and teens across New York City. A tireless champion and friend, Pat will be fondly remembered by everyone at the Library. We offer our deep sympathies to her children, Tom, Nancy, Andy, and Sally, and to all her family and friends. Pat was a lovely woman dedicated to many things to help in the community. We met decades ago at The New York Public Library where her deep interest in education and learning made a special contribution. Her charm and interests brought us togerther as colleagues and friends and
