Nancy - I was so so sorry to hear about the loss of your son, Peter. I never met him, but I understand he was a wonderful man. I hope you can find lots of comfort in knowing that you and your husband, David, raised such a good person, and that so many of your friends share in your grief. My thoughts and my family's are with you.

Pete grew up 22 blocks from me, but I only got to know him when I had the luck of becoming his roommate my senior year in college. He was smart, irrepressibly funny, very talented in photography, and always stylish. Being with Pete broadened me, challenged me, but at the same time he made me feel at home only the way a true New Yorker can. He was one of my favorite people that I ever met. He will be sorely missed, and if there is ever anything I can do for the Ment family, I would be honored. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I am a friend of Pete's from Oberlin College, and was extremely shocked and sad to hear of his passing. When I think of Pete, I almost always laugh because I have so many memories of Pete's wit, humor, fun-loving attitude and creativity. Pete's sense of humor will always stand out in my mind. Pete was always someone I looked forward to seeing, and a friend who constantly made me laugh and smile. I feel very lucky to have known him. My very deepest sympathies and best wishes go out to his parents and family. I am thinking of you in this time of grief.

Best wishes,

I met Peter in Erie, PA about 2 years ago. He obviously stuck out in the crowd that forms at the local bars. Immediatley, I approached him- his smile, demeanor, and disposition- so friendly and asserting- and introduced myself. I can't say enough about the gentle spirit I encountered. We remained friends throughout his travels and mine- which were both extensive in thier own right... This is an incredible loss to all who had the blessing of meeting Peter. Through emails and visits- when I was living in Philly we shared nothing but the best times. He was to me: so balanced, so pure, so wise, like a big brother! What an exceptionally clean heart- he eminated goodness and comfort. Tonight I am going to the perpetual adoration chapel provided by my parish here in Erie. I will meditate only on Peter and his loved ones. I am sooo sorry. God Bless. I send my love.....and anything I can do please email me. I'm so sorry...Peter left a huge imprint on my heart, as I'm sure he did with everyone he ever came in contact with. I have fun photos to apply to the site soon. To Peter's family: Love and Respect. What a horrible tradgedy. I am at a loss for what to say except that I will pray on everyones behalf. I love you, Peter...

David: I was so sorry to read about your loss. I remember you telling me about your son and seeing you with him at a film at Symphony Space a few years ago. As a mother of two sons, I know how hard this must be for you and your wife. You will be in my thoughts.
