I am very sad to hear the news of Peter's passing. I met Peter G. Rolland when I joined the faculty at Yale University in 1976. Peter was a great friend, colleague and intellect. Always fascinated by the built environment, Peter was walways ready for a conversation about architecture or the landscape. My most special memory of Peter was visiting him in Rome at the American Academy. We had many lunches and dinners there while sitting in the heat of the Roman summer. Peter was always a good sight at Yale. He will be missed.
