Philip Hedges Obituary

HEDGES--Philip Hall, a retired partner at the New York law firm of White & Case, passed away Sunday, December 30th at his home in Harrison, New York. He was 74. Mr. Hedges was born in Middletown, Connecticut, and grew up in Portland. He later graduated from Wesleyan University and The University of Chicago Law School, Cum Laude. He spent his entire law career at White & Case where he was a senior partner in Corporate Real Estate. He was a loving husband to his wife Edith (Nyman) of 47 years and father to three children, James (Michele von Kroemer), Nancy (Joseph Stein) and David (Gretchen Ohlig). He had seven grandchildren who loved and admired him; Eleanor Hedges; Courtney, Emily and Anna Stein; Matthew, Spencer and Payson Hedges. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hedges was the youngest child of Raymond and Clara (Hall) Hedges of Portland and had two siblings now deceased, Raymond Jr. and Eleanor (Hale). The family will hold a private Episcopal service and burial in Portland on Thursday, January 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492, or the charity of your choice. There are no calling hours. Services are under the direction of the Portland Memorial Funeral Home 231 Main St., Portland.

Dear Edith,
Mary Lou and I are saddened to hear of Phil's passing.
I have many fond memories of good times together in High School, College and later. He was really a good friend.
