PIKE SULLIVAN Obituary

SULLIVAN--Pike H., 86, of Wilson, Wyoming, died on May 8, 2013. Pike was born in Decatur, Illinois on January 19, 1927. He graduated from Brown University in 1949 with a B.A. in Economics. He started an incredibly successful professional career in investment banking in New York City at White, Weld & Co. He joined F. Eberstadt & Co., Inc. in 1962, and served as Chairman of the Board and C.E.O from 1979 - 1985. He subsequently joined the investment advisory firm of Peter B. Cannell & Co., Inc., where he served as Chairman from July 1988 until his retirement in 1993. He truly enjoyed the investment banking business and was a mentor to many other great investors. He was a philanthropist and an avid outdoorsman. As avidly as he pursued his career, he was a world class fly fisherman and raced star boats in North America and throughout the world. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Susan Wray Sullivan, a daughter, Marguerite (Meg) Sullivan, a son, Pike H. Sullivan III, and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Wilson, Wyoming. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

Those of you who knew Pike wil recognize he is smiling here. He taught me how to cast in the back yard and this is my first catch.

My condolences to the Sullivan family. I was a back office guy at Eberstadt in the 1960's, & I always enjoyed Pike's subtle humor as well as appreciating his business acumen.

Susan and I enjoyed the friendship of Pike and Sue for almost 20 years as both of us moved to Wilson, WY at about the same time. Pike was a giant among men and was a great and loving friend to so many. He will be missed by many including Susan and myself. God bless him and his family.
