RENEE BRANDEIS Obituary

BRANDEIS--Renee L. Renee L. (Leeser) Brandeis passed away peacefully on July 8, 2022, at the age of 95. Renee was born in Duisburg, Germany in 1927, and after surviving the Holocaust, immigrated to the United States in 1948, eventually settling in the New York metropolitan area. Renee was an avid painter, a designer of wearable, sterling silver sculptures, and the author of the book "Deep Shadows" which recounted, in poems and short stories, her experiences and emotions relating to her Holocaust experience. The book also featured a number of Renee's oil paintings, typically done in vivid colors to represent her post-Holocaust rebirth. Renee was pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years, and the love of her life, Eric Brandeis, and is survived by her two sons Clifford (Sharon) and Charles (Kate), and five grandchildren, Rachel, Henry, Aaron, Ben, and Emma.
