RICHARD FRIEDMAN Obituary

FRIEDMAN--Richard, M.D.

The Ruth J. and Maxwell Hauser & Harriet and Arthur H. Aufses, Jr., M.D., Department of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai mourns the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Dr. Richard Friedman. A former resident, fellow, and faculty member of Mount Sinai, he provided dedicated care to the downtown communities of Manhattan for more than three decades. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues, patients, and the various communities and groups he selflessly served. We extend our most sincere condolences to his wife and children, and the entire Friedman family. Michael L. Marin, M.D., Chairman, Dept of Surgery, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

I have not been in touch with this branch of the family for many years. I have fond memories of time spent as kids with Danny, Joey and Ricky. I send my condolences to the family and will always remember those years. Lorrie

I want to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to family and friends. I worked Richie for 8 years when I was director of breast surgery at Beth Israel. Both Richie and Ira were wonderful welcoming mentors. His devotion and dedication to patients was inspirational. He would include my seriously ill patients with breast cancer in his daily davening. A big heart, talented surgeon and highly sought after teacher. Such a tragic loss. Strength to his family. Best wishes
