RICHARD KEATS Obituary

KEATS--Richard L., of Sands Point, NY, April 1, 1927 - April 7, 2024, passed away peacefully after a short illness and having enjoyed a long, rich life. Dick was a Veteran of the Navy, a graduate of Horace Mann and of Brown University, and an undisputed titan of the toy industry, principally as the owner of Buddy L and later, as an inventor. There is no doubt that his work in this field kept him young. Dick deeply loved his wife Jean (nee Becker) who predeceased him, his daughters Maggie and Trish, and faithful dog companions Chloe and Denver. Donations can be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Asso- ciation.

Maggie and Trish,

I am beside myself, as I came across Buddy's obituary by accident. I remember the day Mag's introduced me to him and said what gentle soul he is. He was one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I know that there are no words that I can offer but a quote from HRH ER II comes to mind. "Grief is the price we pay for love." Please tell me what his favorite tree was, and I will have one planted in his honor.

Most Sincerely,
David
