So Sad. Just learned of Dick's passing. Splendid gentleman. A classmate at Yale Law and at one point shared an apartment landing at 44 Gramercy Park. Our deep condolences to John and Elizabeth.

As a young lawyer, I considered Richard to be a mentor. Later on, he was a partner and a colleague. Richard was a wonderful man, and a superb business lawyer. The ultimate client advocate. May his memory be a blessing.

Dick was a top student at Poly Prep--number 2 behind Steve Sigler. I was number 3. At least up until that time, the Poly 1951 Class had the highest academic record in Poly's history ! 4 students went on to Harvard, 4 to Yale. Dick was also a talented artist. Early in his corporate law career, Dick was an associate in the firm that later became Wien & Malkin. We were always good friends and he was always brilliant and in mid-life he became a good golfer ! I will always remember that while at Poly he had by his desk at home the biggest dictionary I had ever seen

So sorry for your loss. Richard was a gentleman and a first-class attorney. I was privileged to know him as a fellow office mate on our firm's 20th Floor for several years. I cannot attend the funeral due to recent surgery, but will hopefully be able to livestream it. May Richard's memory be for blessing.
