ROBERT LARSON Obituary

LARSON--Robert H. Robert "Bob" H. Larson of Quogue, NY, died peacefully on July 6, age 92, surrounded by family. Born in LeRoy, MN, in 1932, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and earned a master's in Hospital Administration from the University of Iowa. Bob had a distinguished 33-year career at Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey, retiring as Vice President in 1990. Described by colleagues as the ultimate "team player," they appreciated his calm demeanor, steady leadership, sense of humor, and compassion. He was deeply committed to community and served in leadership positions at the Quogue Library, Quogue Field Club, Quogue Beach Club, and Westhampton Presbyterian Church. He loved his many friends and took great joy in their company. To Bob, family was everything, and he will be dearly missed. He doted on his grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love, and, in turn, they adored him. He was honest, humble, patriotic, loyal, and kind--always with a twinkle in his eye and a smile. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Joan, of 60 years; four children: Deborah Disston, Geoffrey Disston, Stuart Disston, Robert Larson, and partners; eight grandchildren and partners; and eight great-grandchildren. Service to be held August 1, 11am, at Westhampton Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quogue Library.
