ROBERT SEIDENBERG Obituary

SEIDENBERG--Robert. Robert "Bob" Seidenberg of Somers, NY passed away on September 7, 2024. Bob was born in 1928 to his parents, Saul and Rose, and greatly enjoyed a childhood lived largely in the partly-rural Five Towns of Long Island. From early on his life- long determination to make things happen, rather than wait for them, shone through -- so he could fish locally, he built a boat from scratch. After high school he served as a Pharmacists Mate in the US Navy. Post Navy he pursued engineering at Tulane and New York University, which led to one of his career passions -- working with various companies in industries as varied as aircraft manufacturing, electronics, luggage and, most enjoyably, children's and collectible dolls. Beyond engineering, another of Bob's passions was architecture and the design and building of homes, including the lovely Hewlett Harbor waterfront home he shared with his beloved wife, Diane, and family for many years. His other interests included gardening, sailing, model building, volunteering at the 4H Club and world travels. In their later years Bob and Diane lived in Somers, NY, near to their daughter Wendy, granddaughter Ariella and son-in- law Kenny -- son Marc would often join family gatherings. Small town life, including with some great local coffee house buddies, suited Bob well. His characteristically intelligent, focused, and oft- times irreverent and humorous talks with family and friends alike were a big part of what kept those closest to him attached for years, and missing him greatly.
