ROBERT SILBERT Obituary

SILBERT--Robert. Robert Silbert MD, 97, died on February 15, 2025. He was born February 1, 1928 in Brooklyn to the late Herbert and Mollie Silbert. Dr. Silbert was valedictorian of his graduating class at Columbia College, 1948, and received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He was a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with a private practice in NYC. Dr. Silbert served as First Lieutenant and MD in the United States Army, stationed in France from 1953 to 1955. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Silbert, as well as his brother Gerald and sister-in-law Ramie, and by his first wife, Betty Silbert. He is survived by his daughters, Joanne Windas (her spouse, Thomas) and Donna Silbert (her spouse, Kevin Foley), stepson Michael Silverstein (his spouse, Laura) and niece Terry Silbert, as well as seven grandchildren: Matthew Windas, Bennett Foley, Steven Windas, Claire Foley, Peter Windas, JoJo Silverstein and Nicky Silverstein. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 27, at 10:30am at the Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 W. 76th St. Shiva will be held on Thursday, February 27 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at 175 Riverside Dr., Apt 3H.
